Ownership of Ideas

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

I disagree with Tyler’s post and Stafano’s article on ownership of ideas. The ideas that I create had come from reading books, magazines, media, learning , varisty and from influencial people. To acknowledge every person for their contribution to the formation of my ideas is impossible. The same applies to people that I have influenced. All ideas are not original. We are purely building on other people’s ideas and forming our own derivative idea.
A fresh idea should be secret. Take the time to implement the idea, patent or trademark. Then share you idea with other people.

The evening left me thinking till the early hours of the great ideas that people expressed. Thank you to Dave and Marc for bringing together genuine people for dinner.

Freedom is a Privilege

Friday, July 13th, 2007

I am blessed that I live in South Africa where there is freedom to work and express my ideas. This writing is an expression of that freedom. The entry was inspired by the North Korean government is tightening the freedom of its people. South Africans must be thankful for our privilege. Often, a fundamental privilege like expression of ideas in writing is taken for granted.
